Topless fun for summer

Aston Martin launched its V12 Speedster supercar earlier this month. Apart from the 700-horsepower engine that gets you from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a starting price of almost 1 million dollars, there’s something even more surprising about this racing two-seater... it has no roof and no windshield!

Creation of the model is credited to the “Q by Aston Martin” customisation team (named after the Q character who invented those clever gadgets for James Bond cars). And it took just one year from concept to production. The design itself is a throwback to Aston Martin’s proud racing heritage, with clear lineage to the DBR1 that won the 24-hours Le Mans in 1959.

Aston Martin will only produce 88 examples of the V12 Speedster, all of them hand-made and customised. With no roof and no windshield, fans looking for authentic racing sensations will need a great pair of goggles... because this V12 can top 300 km/h.
